Frank Ocean is an American singer-songwriter, record producer, and photographer. He gained fame from his idiosyncratic music style, introspective and elliptical songwriter, and wide vocal range. With his first mixtape he got his record contract and debut with the studio album and won Best Urban Contemporary Album at the Grammy Award.

Frank Ocean was born Christopher Edwin Cooksey on 28th October 1987, in Long Beach, California, United States. He holds American nationality and belongs to the African-American ethnicity.

He is one of two sons to father Calvin Edward Cooksey and mother Katonya Breaux Riley. He and his brother Ryan Breaux was raised in New Orleans.

He completed his high school at John Ehret High School in New Orleans in 2005. He went to the University of New Orleans but he was forced to transfer to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette as his home and personal recording facility were destroyed.

Frank Ocean went to Los Angeles to pursue his dream as a musician. His hard work paid him off in less than three years and became an established songwriter. He signed a deal and wrote songs for artists including Justin Bieber, John Legend, and Brandy Norwood.  

Frank released his first mixtape on 16th February 2009. From his first mixtape, he got famous and was praised for his work. Which led him right to Def Jam who collaborated with Jay-Z and Kanye West. in the music video from the album in 2011.

He made his studio debut with the album on 10th July 2012 in which he won Best Urban Contemporary Album. The same year he also won Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for the song and shared it with The Dream, Jay-Z, and Kanye West.

The singer released his second album with the title on 20th August 2016. He has been released yearly including and in 2017, in 2018, , and in 2019.
