Massarotti covered the Red Sox for Fox Sports New England while working at the Herald. He occasionally made guest appearances on Sports Xtra on WHDH. Additionally, he participated in the Boston-based talk radio program The Big Show on WEEIsports.

Massarotti started working as a columnist for the Boston Globe in September 2008. He started a daily column for the magazine and took over as the face and voice of the sports section on the Globe’s website, Boston.com. He left the Boston Globe in 2013 after five years there. Early in 2014, he returned to the Globe and started writing for its online sports site.
