Jeff Novitzky began his professional career as an agent for the Food and Drug Administration investigating the use of steroids in professional sports in 2006. He has been serving as a federal agent for the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) since 2008.

The New York Daily News reported that he was involved in an investigation into performance-enhancing drug use. He caught Lance Armstrong's Tour de France team, and that Armstrong's former teammate Floyd Landis was cooperating with the investigation.

Jeff was one of the major sources of information in the Mitchell Report about doping in MLB. He then started working with the UFC as their Vice President of Athlete Health and Performance in April 2015. He has a strong commitment to demolishing anti-doping efforts within the organization.
