The star actress was born and named Mary CathleenCollins on November 20, 1956. She was raised in Long Beach, California by her parents Paul Collins and wife Norma Collins. Her father, Paul, worked as an executive at Hobie Cat while her mother was a makeup artist and hairstylist at Ann-Margret. When she was very young, her parents divorced and her mother was linked to an American stuntman Bobby Bass who became Derek’s stepfather.
